I can’t recommend Dr. Gao enough. I had a pinched nerve in my neck that was causing me an incredible amount of pain in my neck, shoulder and arm. My PCP kept giving me different types of meds to help with the pain, but nothing was helped. Advil did nothing. I started doing PT and that helped my pain level go down from an 8 to a 5, but I was still in pain especially in the mornings. By week 5 I decided to try Acupuncture, Dr. Gao was very kind and professional and let me know I’d only need 4 sessions. After the first two sessions I started feeling some relief and after my 4th session my pain was pretty much gone. Im mad at myself for not going sooner and suffering in pain for 6 weeks. I highly recommend Acupuncture and specifically Dr. Gao, especially if you have a pinched nerve! Also Disha at the front desk is great, she’s so kind and knowledgeable.

In the past I had a lot of personal experience in getting acupuncture treatment for different kinds of health issues, ranging from joint pain to ear problem to dizziness. Earlier this year I started to have shoulder joint pain which was getting worse to the extent that the pain could cause me to wake up in the middle of night. I knew I needed to get acupuncture treatment. So I started searching acupuncture doctor close by and found Dr. Gao. After the initial consultation, I decided to give Dr. Gao a try. After a couple of sessions treatment, my shoulder problem got improved a lot. At that point I know Dr. Gao is a very experienced and knowledgeable acupuncture doctor. After a little more than month of treatment, my shoulder joint pain is gone and I can have a good night sleep again. I highly recommend Dr. Gao if anyone needs to seek acupuncture treatment.

After over nine months of going to doctors, a multitude of tests taken with no diagnosis and only suggestions of trying different medicines that caused terrible side effects, I found Dr. Gao. I have been having night sweats (way past menopause) that nobody could seem to address until acupuncture. Dr. Gao asks questions, listens to answers and is very thoughtful in her approach to patient problems and needs. She is a rarity in her profession where patients are simply a number. After six visits my symptoms are easily 60% better, and what a pleasure it is after all this time to begin sleeping through the night! Disha, the office manager, runs a tight ship. There is never a wait, the office is spotlessly clean, and unfortunately you never have time to enjoy the tea provided because Dr. Gao is always on time. After being put through the ringer going from doctor to doctor, I feel extremely fortunate to have found Dr. Gao. Her kind yet professional demeanor is comforting; her knowledge of acupuncture is more than impressive. This office is a rare find and I'm just so glad I found it.

I have been through a lot in the past 3-4 years. I was limping until I had my knee surgery done. That's when my ankle problems started. I was prescribed pain medication, I went to outpatient physical therapy, to two orthopedic specialists, a pain specialist, chiropractor, and now to acupuncture. Now I am getting relief just after 8 sessions. I do have 4 more sessions left and I will pay for another 12 sessions. I'm still taking my medicine for now, but now I am able to sleep the whole night. I hope that continuing with another round I will discontinue in time my pain pills. I wouldn't tried acupuncture if I didn't see results with a family member, with different medical issues. The office, the rooms are clean and welcoming, and the staff and the doctor show professionalism, courtesy and empathy.

Someone recommended Dr.Goa to me and everyday I am so grateful. She has helped me manage my monthly pain issues I didn’t think was possible. It’s an emotional relief to feel good more often. Another plus, Dr. Goa and Disha are the kindest people you’ll meet.

Let me start by saying I had reservations on whether acupuncture would help me, I have Nerve damage on both sides and have tried therapy and so many other methods to relieve my pain. Due to an aggressive dental procedure my vagus nerve was traumatized which resulted in a case of chronic hiccups for 13 days.this made it almost impossible to get any sleep. I tried all the methods and tricks recommended and prescription medications but nothing helped. I read that acupuncture could possibly help so I searched for the best acupuncturist and found Dr. Hong GAO with her vast certifications knowledge and training.I signed up thinking if it worked it would take many sessions but to my amazement after one thirty minute treatment the hiccups were gone. I now continue weekly treatments for other issues along with my wife Dr GAO is treating for a 40 yr thyroid condition. Dr. Gao is amazing! My 86 year old mom was having excruciating shoulder pain. She tried physical therapy, but after 3 sessions of PT, it seemed to make it worse. I decided to bring her to see Dr. Gao. After just a couple acupuncture sessions, my mom felt relief. Dr. Gao suggested she come for 12 sessions to resolve the issue and she was absolutely correct. My mom’s pain is virtually gone and she is doing so well. Dr. Gao and her staff are so personable and helpful. The office is super clean. I will never hesitate to bring my mom or myself to see Dr. Gao for any pain issues which arise in the future. I will refer all my family and friends to the Troy Acupuncture and Wellness Center.

While on vacation, I saw flashing lights in the corner of my left eye, and after two days I saw thousands of small floaters in my eye and a big, dark floater, like a jellyfish, was covering my vision. The dark floater was constantly moving giving me dizziness and anxiety. I went to ER in Punta Cana, and I was diagnosed with posterior vitreous detachment, which was confirmed when I came back to the United States. The retina specialist told me that there is no treatment except surgery in extreme cases. I looked online to see if there was anything that could help my condition, and I found out that the acupuncture might help. Immediately, I started the acupuncture with Doctor Gao and while driving, after the first visit, I could see improvement. After 28 visits the small floaters are reduced to few, and the big floater is reduced in size and very transparent. So far, I would say that the overall improvement is over 85%. For me the acupuncture was an extraordinary experience, because I could see progress throughout my eye. I was just amazed of how I could see better after each acupuncture session.
